Attachment styles are developed in childhood in response to how your caregivers related to you. Then, in your adult romantic relationships you relate with your partner’s through the style that you developed. It is also often how you will relate to your children, hence attachment styles being passed throughout generations of families. They can move and shift and change. The are not “fixed”. A first step towards having power over the way in which you relate to romantic partners is to better understand how your attachment style influences you in the way that it does.

There are 4 styles:

📍Autonomous (caused by security)📍Preoccupied (caused by anxiety)📍Dismissive (caused by avoidance)📍Unresolved (caused by disorganization between anxiety and avoidance).

Stay tuned as I continue to share info on how your attachment style might be impacting your partnerships, breakups, and parenting. Do you know your attachment style? If so, did you have an aha moment that helped you to take control of your reactions in relationships?
