What we know…
Healthy families aren’t perfect—they’re intentional.
Studies show that family therapy improves communication, reduces conflict, and boosts emotional well-being for children, teens, and parents alike. It’s especially effective in helping families navigate transitions like divorce, illness, relocation, or launching a teen into adulthood.
Here’s a surprising stat: When a teen receives individual therapy, outcomes improve even more when parents are involved in family therapy too.
Family therapy helps everyone feel heard, supported, and better equipped to move forward together—as a team.

At A Better Life Therapy, we know that families come in all shapes and dynamics and that healing happens in the context of relationships. Our family therapists bring a deep understanding of systems, communication, and emotional safety to help families reconnect, repair, and move forward together.
Each clinician below brings their own area of expertise—whether you're navigating parenting stress, blended family transitions, sibling conflict, or teen mental health concerns, you’ll find someone who gets it.
Family therapy can support a wide range of concerns, including communication breakdowns, sibling conflict, parenting challenges, blended family transitions, mental health issues, grief, and life changes like divorce or relocation. It’s designed to help families function more smoothly and feel more connected—even when things are hard. We work with many types of family configurations including blended families, separating families, single parent families, and families that include all adult members.
Family therapy is flexible. Some sessions may involve just two people (like a parent and teen), while others might include the whole family. Your therapist will work with you to decide who should attend which sessions based on your goals and dynamics.
Our office is an out-of-network provider, which means we do not bill insurance directly. However, we’re happy to provide you with a superbill—a detailed receipt that includes the information your insurance company may require to consider reimbursement.
To find out if your plan offers out-of-network benefits, we recommend calling your insurance provider and asking:
– Do I have out-of-network mental health coverage?
– What is the reimbursement rate for outpatient therapy sessions (CPT code 90847 or 90846)?
– Is there a deductible I need to meet first?
We also work with a company called Mentaya which can help you to see whether you have out of network benefits and what the cost of your sessions would be after receiving reimbursement.(Click here to easily check). If you have any questions or need help understanding the process, please don’t hesitate to contact our office. We’re here to support you in navigating your options.
Yes! Many of our family therapists offer telehealth, which means family members can join sessions from multiple locations. As long as each participant is located in a state where the therapist is licensed, remote sessions are absolutely possible.
Our family therapists work with a wide range of ages—from young children to teens to adult families. Some clinicians specialize in parenting support, others in adolescent mental health, and some in adult sibling or intergenerational issues. You can view each therapist’s areas of expertise in the list above or if that feels overwhelming, we can find the best match for you.
