Local Health Providers We Trust
Looking for support we don’t offer here? These are providers our clients often ask about — and ones we feel good recommending.
We’ve compiled this list to help ease your search for care. These providers are not affiliated with our practice, and we cannot be responsible for outcomes related to their services.
Psychiatry
The following psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse practitioners provide human-centered care and are often able to offer initial appointments sooner than the typical 3–6 month wait, so you can get support without the long delay. They are also committed to collaborating with your current provider at A Better Life Therapy to ensure continuity of care and a cohesive treatment experience.
Child Therapists
While some of our offices offer individual therapy for children, availability is often limited and we are frequently at capacity. The therapists listed below specialize in working with younger children using developmentally appropriate approaches like play therapy, sand tray therapy, and other evidence-based methods. We recommend them not only for their strong clinical credentials, but also because we’ve collaborated with them directly and seen how deeply they care for the families they serve. Many of these providers work alongside us when a parent, couple, or individual is receiving care at A Better Life Therapy and their child is working with a child therapist. This collaborative approach helps ensure the entire family is supported with thoughtful, coordinated care.
Sex Therapists
Our practice includes trained sex therapists who work with individuals and couples on a range of concerns related to intimacy, desire, identity, and sexual well-being. However, when our clinicians are at capacity, we confidently refer to the trusted providers and practices listed below.
We’ve collaborated with, trained alongside, and worked with many of these professionals for years. Their clinical expertise, inclusive approach, and commitment to compassionate care make them excellent resources for those seeking support around sex and relationships.
Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP)
As interest grows in the therapeutic use of psychedelics, many clients are seeking safe, ethical, and well-trained providers to support them through this work. While A Better Life Therapy does not currently offer psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy, we recognize its potential when approached with care and clinical integrity.
The providers listed below are professionals we trust because of their advanced training, ethical grounding, and collaborative spirit. We’ve worked alongside many of them and know they prioritize safety, integration, and thoughtful care throughout the entire process. If you’re exploring this path, these are clinicians we feel confident referring you to.
Providers that Accept Insurance
While A Better Life Therapy is an out-of-network provider, we’re happy to offer superbills to help you seek reimbursement from your insurance. However, we understand that some clients prefer to work with therapists who are in-network with their insurance plans. If that’s the right path for you, we’ve listed trusted providers below who do accept insurance. We recommend them because we’ve collaborated with many of them directly and know they offer compassionate, high-quality care.
ADHD Evaluations
Getting an accurate diagnosis can be a meaningful first step in understanding attention challenges and identifying the right supports. While A Better Life Therapy does not currently offer formal ADHD evaluations, we frequently work with clients navigating ADHD and often collaborate with the providers listed below.
These professionals offer comprehensive assessments for children, adolescents, and adults. We recommend them because of their clinical expertise, clear communication, and thoughtful approach to testing and feedback. If you're exploring a possible ADHD diagnosis, these are trusted providers to consider.
Executive Coaches
Many of our clients—especially those in leadership roles or navigating major career transitions—benefit from the support of an executive coach. While therapy and coaching serve different purposes, they can complement each other powerfully.
The coaches listed below are professionals we trust because we’ve worked alongside them and seen the thoughtful, ethical, and growth-oriented approach they bring to their clients. Whether you're seeking clarity, confidence, or guidance in your professional life, these coaches offer insight and strategy grounded in real-world experience.
A Better Life Therapy Former Trainees and Colleagues
Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of training and supervising many talented therapists as they completed their graduate education, clinical licensure hours, or grew their skill set early in their career. Some of them have gone on to build thriving practices of their own and we’re proud to continue recommending them.
Because we’ve worked closely with these clinicians, we know their strengths, values, and clinical approach. They’ve been part of the A Better Life Therapy community, and we trust them to offer thoughtful, ethical, and client-centered care.
Postpartum Doulas
We work with many individuals and couples who are preparing to welcome a baby. Postpartum doulas can be an invaluable source of support in the days and weeks following birth—offering care, guidance, and a calming presence during a time of major transition. The doulas listed here come highly recommended by members of our community.
After the Stork
After the Stork has been Philadelphia and the Main Line’s premier and longest-running postpartum doula agency since 2006. They provide expert day and overnight newborn care to help families experience a calm, restful transition into parenthood. We've had the opportunity to train their team on perinatal mental health, so we know they’re knowledgeable about the emotional challenges that can arise during this time and are well-equipped to recognize signs and symptoms of concern. We confidently recommend them because we know they genuinely care about the mental well-being of the parents they support.

Therapeutic Learning Supports
Heartwood is a non-profit learning community designed to support neurodivergent children through a truly individualized, therapeutic, and inclusive approach to education. Their team is dedicated to nurturing confident learners by addressing sensory processing differences, social-emotional regulation, and communication needs within a supportive environment.
Heartwood was founded in response to the limitations of traditional education for neurodivergent students. It offers a sense of belonging and community while seamlessly integrating therapeutic supports into the learning experience.
We confidently recommend Heartwood because its co-founder and Executive Director, Jenny Hoving, LPC is our former colleague. We’ve had the privilege of witnessing her passion and work up close—watching her thoughtfully weave mental health, education, and care into every aspect of what she builds. Her vision and dedication are at the heart of what makes Heartwood such a special place.
