“While you are unique, you are not alone in your concerns.”
If you are here, it is likely because you are going through something difficult and challenging. Perhaps you and your partner are not getting along - frequently fighting, spending less time together, or struggling to figure out how to move forward in your relationship. You might also be here because individually something just isn't feeling right. You might notice you've become depressed or anxious. Perhaps you feel alone or confused.
While you are unique, you are not alone in your concerns. With experience, I can help you better understand what is going on in your life or within your relationship and offer you skills and tools to improve it so that you can have a sense of empowerment, enjoyment, or direction.
As a therapist, I look at the whole picture - I want to see what has been impacting you from inside, out and together we will figure out the best plan of action for you. I want to facilitate your healing, growth, and change in a way that feels safe and caring.
Who I work with:
Couples Therapy:
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. This means I went to school specifically to understand how relationships work and what can be done to make them more fulfilling. Working with couples and families is one of my passions because I believe that when you have a third party, then you get an opportunity to step out of what might feel chaotic and look at what's happening from afar.
When couples and families are struggling, there is usually a common denominator - people feel that they are misunderstood, mischaracterized, and under considered. A sense of "no one is listening to me" or "I don't matter" is incredibly common.
I help couples learn to truly hear each other. I like to act as "translator" helping you express yourself in a way your partner can finally understand or helping you to hear the words your partner has wished so deeply for you to hear.
When we work together, we will look to heal the wounds that naturally occur in our relationships when you’re not in tune with each other, and then I will give you tools to prevent it from happening again while also creating a plan for how to make it even better than it was as you move forward.
Our partnerships should be our safe haven, I want to show you how.
Individual Therapy:
When I work with individuals, I take a relational perspective. This means that I don't see the problem as living "within you" but as a response to the things you've experienced in your life. I believe that we learn to develop our defenses as a way to manage the world beyond us. And that those defenses can sometimes keep us incredibly safe while also causing us a lot of pain, anxiety, and confusion.
In therapy, we will explore the history of your life and then work towards healing past pain so that you can live more fully.
Fee
My rate per 50-minute session is $200.00
I am an out of network provider which means that I do not accept insurance directly. We do accept HSA’s for your care and can provide something called a superbill after your sessions. A superbill is a receipt that includes all information that your insurance company will need to process reimbursement if they include that as part of your plan.
