Immigration Cases We Support

Our immigration psychological evaluations can support a range of immigration-related applications and legal proceedings. We work with individuals, families, and attorneys to document psychological symptoms, trauma histories, and the emotional impact of relevant circumstances.

VAWA Psychological Evaluations

A VAWA (Violence Against Women Act) psychological evaluation may document the psychological effects of abuse, coercive control, and other traumatic experiences for individuals seeking immigration relief under VAWA.

The evaluation may explore the history and impact of abuse, current emotional and psychological symptoms, and relevant clinical findings. The resulting report can provide supporting clinical information for an immigration petition.

U-Visa Psychological Evaluations

A U-visa psychological evaluation may help document the psychological impact of qualifying criminal victimization and related experiences.

The evaluation may address trauma-related symptoms, emotional distress, and the ways the experience has affected the individual's daily functioning and well-being.

Extreme Hardship and Waiver Evaluations

Immigration hardship evaluations may assess the psychological and emotional consequences that a qualifying family member could experience if a loved one is removed from the United States or if the family is separated.

The evaluation considers the individual's circumstances, mental health history, family relationships, and other relevant factors to provide a clinically grounded assessment of potential hardship.

Asylum and Other Immigration Evaluations

We also provide psychological evaluations for other immigration-related matters, including asylum, refugee-related claims, and other cases where documentation of psychological symptoms, trauma, or mental health concerns may be relevant.

If you are unsure which type of evaluation is appropriate for your case, we can discuss your needs and coordinate with your immigration attorney when authorized.

What Is an Immigration Psychological Evaluation?

An immigration psychological evaluation is a specialized mental health assessment prepared to document psychological symptoms, relevant experiences, and their impact on an individual's functioning in the context of an immigration matter.

Depending on the purpose of the evaluation, the process may include:

  • A clinical interview and psychosocial history

  • Review of relevant records and documentation

  • Assessment of current psychological symptoms and functioning

  • Use of appropriate clinical assessment measures when indicated

  • A written psychological report addressing the referral questions

The evaluation is individualized to the specific immigration matter. The report may describe relevant clinical findings, diagnoses when appropriate, and the psychological impact of experiences or circumstances.

An immigration psychological evaluation is not a guarantee of approval or a substitute for legal advice. Immigration decisions are made by the relevant authorities, and our role is to provide an independent, professional clinical assessment.
