"Together, we will explore how your story and life experiences shape your patterns, relationships, and sense of self."
"Hi, I’m Julia a Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist! My style is connective, compassionate, and client centered. I bring a warm, nonjudgmental presence to the therapy room, creating a safe space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences openly. Together, we'll explore how your story and life experiences have shaped your patterns, relationships, and sense of self.
Who I work with:
I support older teens, adults, couples, and adult families as they navigate the complexity of life. My goal is to help you feel seen, heard, and supported while exploring challenges and opportunities for greater growth and connection. Areas I commonly support clients with include:
Family-of-Origin and Attachment Work
Life transitions
Anxiety
Grief and Loss
Blended Family Dynamics
Communication and Boundaries
Relationship Concerns (romantic, friendship, family)
Body Image Concerns
Sexual trauma and healing
Desire and Intimacy
Identity Exploration
Additionally, I have a particular passion for working with healthcare professionals, therapists, first responders, and others in helping professions who are navigating burnout, compassion fatigue, work life balance, and the emotional demands of caring for others.
My Approach:
I take a holistic and systemic approach, exploring not just who you are, but the systems you are part of including your family, culture, relationships, work, and community and how these experiences shape your present-day interactions. With curiosity and compassion, I'll help you build self-awareness, better understand the patterns that keep you feeling stuck, and identify meaningful ways to move toward the life and relationships you want.
My work integrates evidence-based approaches including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), the Gottman Method, and Mindfulness-Based practices. Together, we'll explore how early relationships, attachment experiences, family dynamics, and broader social influences have shaped your story while building practical tools to regulate your nervous system, strengthen relationships, and navigate life's challenges with greater confidence and self-compassion.
I bring insight from my own experiences of growing up in a divorced and blended family, being an only child, and navigating experiences of parentification. These experiences deepen my ability to hold space with empathy, curiosity, and nuance. Outside of the therapy room, you can find me moseying through a local art or vintage market, taking a dance class, or unwinding with my favorite Bravo shows.
Taking the Next Step:
If my approach feels like a fit for you, I’d be honored to support you on your journey. Appointments can be scheduled anytime through our online portal or by emailing info@abetterlifetherapy.com. I provide therapy at our Ardmore office and virtually for clients in Pennsylvania and New Jersey."
