For 15 years, I’ve helped people navigate and improve the relationship they have with themselves and others. Read below about how I support individuals and couples.
Individual Therapy
I work with individuals who are trying to figure out how to navigate stressful roles and challenging relationships. My clients tend to be high achievers at work or at home and come to me after white knuckling their issues for years - they often find themselves feeling alone and not knowing who to go to for help.
Because of my training in perinatal mental health, I often work with young parents who are struggling with the juggling act of life.
Whether you’re here because you are finding yourself overwhelmed and depressed or because you’ve got a big decision to make, I would be honored to work with you.
Couples Therapy
Perhaps, you’ve been wondering for a while whether or not you should get support. Often, couples will resolve to see a therapist after a big argument, only to feel better the next day and delay getting the help they need.
Whether you’re here because there was a big fight last night, you feel stuck in a gridlock around a major decision, or you’ve noticed yourself feeling lonely even when you’re in the same room with each other- I would be so honored to work with you.
While I work with all types of couples, I specialize in supporting dual income, high achieving couples who are splitting at the seams with stress. These couples tend to be caregivers to children and sometimes are part of the sandwich generation (taking care of children and their aging parents at the same time).
If we work together, I will help you figure out the core of the issue, figure out steps for moving forward, and offer tools so you can take action towards a more functional relationship. As a therapist, I am direct, provide you specific feedback, and like to use humor as much as I use empathy to get us through.
When working with couples, I use Gottman Method Couples Therapy and Relational Life Therapy.
Who I am
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy Clinical Fellow, and the Founder of A Better Life Therapy. I have been featured in The New York Times, USA Today, The Washington Post, and various other international and national publications. I am also the author of the bestselling book I Want This To Work, The Couples Therapy Flip Chart, and the forthcoming book Til’ Stress Do Us Part.
I wear a lot of hats - that of therapist, business owner, mom, wife, friend, and family member. I use my clinical training alongside real world experience to help you strengthen the relationship you have with yourself and others.
