“We go through life determined to find or create our own path, all the while not realizing that we do not always have to walk it alone.”
Everyone deserves the opportunity to engage with people, places, experiences, and beliefs that help to cultivate and maintain their sense of happiness and peace. Sometimes we just need a little help finding those things along the way. Though we often think the road we walk is one we must walk alone, my role is to challenge this notion by fostering a safe and supportive environment, founded upon empathy, patience, kindness, and respect, in which you can be your true, authentic self and openly share your story. Though I know our work together will be one small piece of your larger journey, my hope is that we can utilize our time together to identify and strengthen your connection to the people, experiences, strengths, and motivations that give life meaning and help to keep you moving forward.
Though much of my therapeutic approach is integrative, drawing primarily on the humanist and person-centered aspects of Adlerian and Rogerian therapies, I am also drawn to attachment-based approaches, as well as interventions informed by attachment therapy and dialectical behavior therapy. However, I also believe in exercising a willingness to learn, and am motivated to continuously build upon my knowledge of evidence-based clinical approaches in order to best meet you where you are and support your needs and goals.
In our time together, I ask to humbly walk beside you as we explore the stories, thoughts, dreams, feelings, and experiences that make you who you are, seeking to offer my steadfast acceptance and support every step of the way. Together, I believe that we can collaboratively identify any goals or ambitions you may have for your life, and take steps towards empowering you to enact the change that you wish to see. Though day-to-day stress, relationship problems, trauma, loss, or other adverse experiences can make the path that we call life difficult to walk, it is my firm belief that no one must do it alone.
I am currently a student at Villanova University pursuing my master's in science in clinical mental health counseling.
