A Better Life Therapy is dedicated to providing expert care to people who have experienced trauma. The Center for Trauma Clinicians have undergone extensive training in evidence based therapy modalities in order to help you or your loved one overcome the impact of trauma on your mental health and relationships. At our practice, we provide treatments like Eye Movement Desensitizaton and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Somatic Therapies, Emotional Freedom Technique, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Art Therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and trauma informed couples therapy modalities including Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy (PACT) , Relational Life Therapy, and The Gottman Method.

Deirdre Cosgrove, LMFT

Deirdre completed her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy with a concentration in sex therapy. She continued her education by becoming trained with The Syzygy Institute and the Maiberger Institute to provide Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) for trauma. Deirdre further specialized in perinatal mental health issues with Postpartum Support International. She is trained to utilize EMDR, IFS (Internal Family Systems), and Gottman Method therapy. She is Clinical Fellow of The American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.

Eman Almusawi, LMFT

Eman completed her Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy. She continued her education by becoming Certified in Neuropsychotherapy in Addiction and Complex Trauma. She has received extensive training in perinatal mood disorders and eating disorders. Along with the trauma based work she does with individuals, she also supports couple by utilizing Relational Life Therapy (RLT) and Gottman Method Couples Therapy (with a specialization in affairs and trauma), both of which address the impact of trauma on our relationships.

Marta Cofone, LPC, NCC

Marta completed her Master’s in Counseling with a specialization in Clinical Mental Health. Marta has been trained by the Maiberger Institute to provide Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR). She is also trained in Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy (PACT) which can have a profound impact on couples who have experienced trauma. Marta has extensive experience supporting people struggling with substance use/misuse. She utilizes EMDR, PACT, Motivational Interviewing, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) in her practice.

Jenny Midence-BLASZCZYk, LPC

Jenny completed her Master of Science in Counseling Psychology. She went on to specialize in treating the impact of trauma on individuals and couples. She has. Certification in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Narcissistic Abuse Treatment. She has also been trained in Adolescent Girl and Young Women Trauma Recovery (G-TREM), and with the American Society on Addiction Medicine (ASAM). She offers individual therapy utilizing these methods and when working with couples combines her trauma training with Gottman Method Couples Therapy.

Stephanie Wray, LPC

Stephanie has a Master’s degree in Art Therapy and Counseling Psychology. She has extensive trauma supporting people with trauma, including her training in Trauma Informed Expressive Arts Therapy (EXAT), a Trauma Informed Equine Expressive Arts Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy through the Expressive Arts. She also a Registered Yoga Teacher. Stephanie utilizes EMDR, Emotional Freedom Technique, Somatic Work, Art and Expression with her clients. When working with couples, she utilizes Gottman Method. Stephanie has further specialization in supporting members of the LGBTQIA community and those who are neurodivergent.

Kristelle Mallah, LMFT

Kristelle Mallah has her Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy. She continued her education through The Maiberger Institute to practice EMDR therapy for trauma. Kristelle has also been trained through Postpartum Support International to support those who have experience perinatal (pregnancy-1st year of babies life) mental health challenges or trauma. Kristelle works with couple utilizing Gottman Method Couples Therapy with a concentration in treating Affairs and Trauma. Kristelle also supports clients navigating the stressors of living in a different country from which they were born. She speaks Arabic and English.
