Types of treatment
One of the biggest complaints we hear from the couples we work with is that they tried couples therapy before and that it felt like they were just allowed to yell at each other the entire session or like the therapist offered no support.
At our office, we are specifically trained to offer couples therapy which is a unique form of therapy and requires specialized training.
Our therapists utilize evidence based couples therapy models like The Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy.
In our Bucks County office we offer:
Traditional Couples Therapy - Traditional couples therapy consists of weekly/biweekly sessions that lost 50 minutes to 90 minutes per session. In this model of couples therapy you will create goals with your therapist and work on them week to week.
Intensive Couples Therapy - Intensive couples therapy, also known as marathon couples therapy, provides couples an extended amount of time to work through issues. Over a period of 2-3 days, a couple will work with the therapist for 5-6 hours a day. Intensive couples therapy allows the couple to get through was amounts to about 7-10 sessions in 2 days and can be especially helpful for couples who never have a chance to finish their conversations during the shorter therapy sessions or couples who are too busy to schedule consistent weekly appointments.
