Meet Ming
Ming Yeoh, MA
“The healing journey is not about fixing what is broken, but rather embracing the process of rediscovering what is whole”
I work with teens and young adults in a supportive, compassionate, and nurturing way, helping them identify their strengths and build self-love by defining goals through deep empathy and acceptance. Through skill building and working to create healthy relationships, I can help you (or your child) learn how to navigate the tricky parts of growing up and not only cope but thrive.
As a therapist, I understand that seeking counseling can feel intimidating at first. My primary goal is to provide a safe, empathetic, and warm environment to encourage a sense of comfort.
I specialize in working with adolescents and young adults experiencing anxiety, depression, and self esteem issues. I also have a special focus on working with adoptees - children, teens and young adults who were adopted and would like a place to process their experience with someone who understands their unique experience.
My Experience:
I began my work at The Center for Family Services in New Jersey. While there, I supported children and teens struggling with depression, anxiety and behavioral issues through both individual counseling and mental health groups. Since then, I have focused my expertise on helping children, teens and young adults.
I am also specifically trained to work with adoptees to help them process their experience.
I look at my work through he lens of connection and trauma, and I help young people learn how to navigate the challenges they are faced with in our world and in their hearts.
Who I work with:
Everyone entering psychotherapy comes from a unique background. Together, we can identify your specific goals and create a treatment plan that addresses your needs. I offer psychotherapy for teens and young adults and also support to their caregivers.
How I help
I help clients find relief from challenges related to anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions. I engage with my clients using an integrative approach, pulling from various techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and a Mindfulness-Based approach. This will help you learn how to navigate your thoughts and feelings in a new way (so they don’t feel so overwhelming) and offer you an opportunity to understand yourself and your needs more deeply so that you can navigate your relationships with more confidence. I will also utilize a mindfulness based approach which can help cope with feelings that feel too big or overwhelming.
