Why did you decide to become a therapist?

"I decided to become a therapist my freshman year of high school after losing a friend to suicide. I was also influenced by my friends that would come to me with various things they were dealing with in school, relationships, at home, with their families, etc. I loved listening to them and being able to provide a safe haven for them".

What are your specialties?

"My specialties are couples, families, relationships, conflict management, anxiety, depression, adolescence/adolescent issues, transitions/life changes".

Why does therapy work?

"I believe therapy works because it provides clients with a safe space to process and grow in a way they never thought they could with the guidance of a caring, well trained person with an outside perspective".

What is your favorite self care activity?

"My favorite self care activity is laying outside in the sunshine with a book and some coffee, or being around animals".

What are your favorite books, videos or podcasts?

"My friends hate borrowing my books because they say they’re too sad. I love books like Perks of Being a Wallflower, Speak, Dreamland, and Wild: From Lost to Found On The Pacific Crest Trail because they take you on a journey through pain but ultimately end in a path towards healing which I find incredibly inspiring. As for Podcasts, I love listening to Where Should We Begin with Esther Perel ( I have a huge professional/career crush on her), Malcolm Gladwell’s Revisionist History, and Good Life Project with Jonathan Fields. I don’t watch a lot of videos, but I will watch almost any TED talk, they’re absolutely amazing".
