Workshop description:
In this session, couples therapist Ariel Stern, LPC, CGT will explore several primary issues impacting couples who are part of a blended family constellation.
Learning objectives:
1. How to use inclusive language to describe the blended family structure
2. How to use genograms and family trees to further the understanding of family dynamics
3. When family therapy or inviting additional family members into the therapy space is important and/or indicated
4. How to address boundary issues
5. What co-parenting and grandparenting considerations look like and mean, and how this can impact the couple
Target Audience:
Licensed and unlicensed mental health professionals
Learning Level:
Introductory to advanced. This workshop should be accessible to early career professionals and offer new skills and principles for more experienced persons.

Ariel is a Philadelphia and Ardmore therapist supporting couples, young parents, women experiencing postpartum depression, and people struggling with addiction and substance abuse as well as general anxiety, depression and trauma. Additionally, Ariel provides career counseling to those struggling with professional identity, job transition and/or new graduates starting their careers.
