Online: How to be an Emotion Coach for your Kids

Becoming Emotion Coaches

Monday, April 20th at 9pm EST

Are you feeling overwhelmed with all the changes happening around you? Are you noticing that your kids are acting out and not cooperating? Are you feeling stuck, desperate and ready to give up after you have tried different traditional parenting methods? If you are a caregiver or a parent who is wondering what to do differently to help your child both now and in the future; the answer is building your child's emotional intelligence.

What is emotional intelligence?

This workshop will provide you with an understanding of John Gottman’s research on emotional intelligence and how we as parents/caregivers/educators can become emotion coaches.

Dr. John Gottman has done 20 years of research on relationships, families, and parenting styles, and found that emotion coaching is fundamental in creating respectful, emotionally healthy, successful kids. Emotion coaching is helping your kids understand their emotions by recognizing what they are feeling and why so they can eventually regulate their own behavior. As children grow and mature, the skill of managing their own emotions helps them navigate social relationships, maximize intellectual success, and develop confidence.

In this workshop you will:
