Coping with the Challenges of Social Distancing: Life in the city

A workshop for city dwellers

Do you live in a big city and are currently practicing social distancing? This practice has its challenges regardless of where you live, but in this workshop we will be exploring the unique challenges of living in a city and having to practice social distancing.

One of the most challenging aspects of living in the city during social distancing, is connection. For many of us we live in smaller spaces that make it challenging to have ample space for ourselves and therefore connection with our partners, family members, or roommates might feel challenging. For those of us that live alone, being in a big city surrounded by so many, yet unable to connect face-to-face with them can also feel challenging and upsetting.

There is also less access to grounding resources like outdoor space and nature.

In this workshop we will:

  • Offer you space to process these challenges

  • Explore creative ways to create space and connection

  • Practice coping skills that you can utilize for your mental health while social distancing.
