Meet francesca
francesca depaul, M.S.
“It takes courage and great self-love to start therapy. Your presence in the safe space and desire to heal are personal strengths that can be built upon in the therapeutic environment.”
Whether you are preparing to start your own therapeutic journey or contemplating it, you have already practiced self-compassion. Well, done! I am happy that you are here and putting yourself first! I like to visualize personal strengths as building blocks. I believe that each person has their own strengths that can be expanded on to foster self-growth and future success. You already have key foundational building blocks–why not add some more?
I strive to meet you where you are at. I am passionate about exploring your thoughts, emotions, strengths, and concerns alongside you. Healing is not a linear process, and neither is life itself. The human experience is full of unpredictable life events and changes that can challenge you in many different ways. I believe that challenge can invite desirable outcomes such as personal growth, resiliency, and healing. I will help you navigate life’s challenges and strengthen your skillset along the way. No individual is immune to the curveballs that life can throw. You are not alone. While problems and concerns are inevitable, they do not define you. I believe that the person seeking help with a problem is not the problem. The problem is the problem. We will collaborate within the safe space to address your presenting concerns, improve your overall wellness, better understand yourself, and enhance your quality of life.
At the core of my approach to therapy lies the phenomenological approach, in that I believe that you serve as the expert of your own lived experience. You are the most reliable source in the room when it comes to telling your life story. I am here to listen and learn about you and your story from a non-judgmental stance. Extending beyond the phenomenological approach, I would describe my therapeutic presence as empathic, gentle, and welcoming. I deeply value the human connection in the safe space, as well. I would define my therapeutic style as eclectic in nature. I prefer to utilize a variety of theoretical frameworks in the therapeutic environment to inform the treatment process, interventions, and goal setting. I employ techniques and skills during sessions from various frameworks including person-centered, cognitive-behavioral, strengths-based, systemic, multicultural, trauma-informed, and reality.
Who I work with:
I work with adults, adolescents, children, couples, and families who are facing hardship posed by anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship conflicts, trauma, and general life transitions. I am here to support you through life’s challenges one step at a time. I tailor the safe space to each client, in an effort to meet individual needs. Together we will occupy a safe space that will promote hope, healing, and growth. I look forward to working with you and guiding you through the rewarding journey that is the therapeutic experience.
My rate per 50 minute session is $120.00
