Meet Jenny Midence-Blaszczyk
Meet our therapist, Jenny
Hi! I am Jenny and I am a therapist practicing at A Better Life Therapy in Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania. I work with adolescent and adult individuals, couples, and families. My first language is Spanish so I am able to offer therapy in either Spanish or English to my clients.
I specialize in supporting people with anxiety, depression, grief and trauma/ptsd. I also support people in navigating how those issues might be surfacing in their relationships or within their families. I love the work I do and the clients I get to support in my office.
Before becoming a therapist, I majored in business and quickly realized that it wasn’t for me; I desired to work with others, interact, understand and as cliché as it sounds -help, somehow. After a quick change in majors I found myself enjoying and taking all psychology courses, and the rest is history!
What is the power of therapy?
Growing up my father would often tell us that power was in the eye of the beholder. When I think about the question “what is the power of therapy ?” I often resort back to my father's words; after all it is less about what I am doing as a clinician and more about what the client is willing and wanting to apply to change their perception of their outside world that makes therapy powerful.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
In my spare time, weather permitting, you would probably find me on the beach with my family looking for seashells for the millionth time of the day with my daughter. If not at the beach, then you would see me happily finding decorations to match the seasons, holidays, and anything in between to make it “homey”. I am passionate about music, despite some describing me as tone deaf, as a result of my parents encouraging me to learn one new song in English weekly when I was little to improve my skills since it was my second language.
My certifications:
Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) Certified
Adolescent Girl and Young Women Trauma Recovery and Empowerment (G-TREM) Certified,
American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM )Certified
