Counselor Connection: Self-Care for Mental Health Professionals

An Online Group Dedicated to Nurturing the Nurturer

As therapists, we hold the problems of the world.  Hearing about our client's trauma and loss while also navigating the needs and uncertainty in our own personal lives is overwhelming.  Many of us have lost peer support working from home and many of us face the fear of showing up to work in group facilities.  And, the person we forget to hold space for at the end of the day is often ourselves.

In this group, we will practice self-care and wellness through the practice of:

  • guided meditation

  • mindfulness based journaling

  • processing our feelings and experiences

We will focus on:

  • providing ourselves the same care as we provide for our clients.

  • preventing issues many mental health professionals experience due to vicarious trauma such as burnout, anxiety, and depression.

Though we will not be discussing cases or ethical issues, we will share resources and referrals.

When will we meet?

We will meet weekly at 7 PM EST for four weeks on the following dates:

May 12

May 19

May 26

June 2

June 9

June 16

Just like we tell our clients, you don't have to carry this burden alone.
