Meet Julia
Julia Cash, MFT
“My style is relational, trauma informed, and client centered”
Hi there, I'm so glad you're here.
Reaching out for support can take a lot of courage. Whether this is your first time or you’re returning to the process, it’s completely normal for therapy to feel unfamiliar or even a little uncomfortable at first. I’m here to offer support that’s healing, warm, and attuned. We will move at your pace, and you won’t have to navigate it alone!
My name is Julia Cash, and I’m a pre-licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I hold a Master of Science in Couple and Family Therapy from Thomas Jefferson University with a specialization in Sex Therapy. Throughout my time at Jefferson, I received two honors awards: the Certificate of Departmental Honors and the Dr. Kenneth Covelman Clinical Excellence Award. Additionally, I completed my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Temple University in May of 2022.
I work with individuals, couples, and relational systems navigating challenges around intimacy, identity, trauma, and self-acceptance. My style is relational, trauma informed, and client centered. I bring a warm, patient, and compassionate presence to the therapy room, creating a safe space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences without judgment. I prioritize authenticity, curiosity, and care in building a strong therapeutic relationship. Together, we will explore the layers of your story, foster greater self-understanding, and move toward healing and connection at a pace that feels right for you.
I draw from a range of evidence-based modalities, including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), the Gottman Method, and Contextual Therapy. These approaches help us explore how early relational (attachment) experiences, family-of-origin dynamics, and broader societal influences shape your present-day relationships, patterns, and sense of self. I incorporate mindfulness self-compassion and somatic awareness practices in session to support you in tuning into your body and regulating your nervous system.
I am passionate about working alongside clients as they reconnect with their authenticity, rewrite limiting narratives, cultivate self-compassion and connect more deeply with themselves and others.
Areas I enjoy exploring with clients include:
Family of Origin & Attachment History
Sexual & Relational Trauma
Identity Development & Self-Compassion
Communication & Intimacy
Grief & Loss
Life Transitions
Cultural & Societal Influences
Desire Discrepancy & Arousal Concerns
People Pleasing & Boundary Work
As a therapist, I bring insight from my own lived experiences, such as growing up in a divorced/blended family, being an only child, and navigating both emotional and instrumental parentification. These parts of my story have shaped my capacity to hold space for others with compassion, nuance, and a deep awareness of the systemic and relational factors that influence our lives.
Outside the therapy room, I enjoy being outdoors with friends and my partner, traveling to new places, and diving into creative art projects. I love winding down with a cup of chamomile tea, an adult coloring book, and a bit of reality TV to relax.
If my approach resonates with you, I would be honored to connect and support you on your journey!
My rate per 50 minute session is $120.00
